This is the state that exists after an individual has received cardiac defibrillation. Cardiac defibrillation is a common emergency procedure. It is the process of stopping fibrillation (rapid, uncoordinated heart contraction) by delivering an electric shock to the heart with a machine (defibrillator). After defibrillation, certain symptoms including amnesia ( loss of memory ) are common.
